Answers To
Frequently Asked Questions
What are fingerprints used for?
Fingerprints are primarily used for identification and authentication. Fingerprints have long been considered the gold standard for personal identification because they are established at birth, completely unique, and difficult to fake.
How are digital fingerprints kept confidential?
Fingerprints scans that are printed onto fingerprint cards are not saved on our system.
Fingerprint scans that are immediately electronically transmitted to authorized agencies are first converted into a mathematical representation, aka a template. These templates are then encrypted using strong encryption algorithms before being securely transmitted directly to the proper authorized recipiennt.
